What a couple of weeks I have had! Carless, and nearly broke, spending time with my neice Kaylee brightened up my day. We are in for a major cold snap which has left my brother and his wife without power since Saturday in MO. My brother said, "This place is hell and now it has frozen over."

From daily devotions

11 I will call to mind the deeds of the LORD; yea, I will remember thy wonders of old. 12 I will meditate on all thy work, and muse on thy mighty deeds. 13 Thy way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? 14 Thou art the God who workest wonders, who hast manifested thy might among the peoples. 15 Thou didst with thy arm redeem thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. [Selah] 16 When the waters saw thee, O God, when the waters saw thee, they were afraid, yea, the deep trembled. 17 The clouds poured out water; the skies gave forth thunder; thy arrows flashed on every side. 18 The crash of thy thunder was in the whirlwind; thy lightnings lighted up the world; the earth trembled and shook. 19 Thy way was through the sea, thy path through the great waters; yet thy footprints were unseen. 20 Thou didst lead thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Quick note: I am doing pretty good these days. I am over the lost of Chloe, don't really miss her much anymore and got over being mad at mom pretty quickly. She ended up going to a nice family. I have a new job making more money than I have in my entire life. Its not much to some people but its still nice for me. Later

Chloe's Last Days

Well, mom is taking Chloe to the SISCA. I have a hard time believinge they will take her but who knows. Dad talked her about letting me take care of Chloe's financial needs but she still insisted that we half to to get rid of her. But all I ever hear is how expensive she is and yet I cant' keep her if I offer to pay for everything???? As usual, I am missing something and I will never understand. I have a feeling she is going to get put down not because she is a mean dog or suffering from illness but because she is expensive and nobody wants her. After this, I am through having an animal of my own. If I do it will be a cat but it want be while I'm living in this house. Its not worth to get a attach to her, be expected to feed her and take her out all the time, but not being able to have a say in whether she lives or dies. I dont' know how I am going to deal with this on top of everything else. I have loss so much in the last couple of months. How much more is God going to ask me sacrifice until he is satisified or says enough she had all she can handle.

several weeks ago I had turned in application for Rizing Stars Childcare. After a week I hadn't heard anything badly needing some money (story of my lif thus far!LOL) I have gone ahead asked for a recieved extra hours at work. 4 am until some times noon. However, this morning around 7:30 in morning the phone rings. Its Rising Star, wanting to know if I would like to come in and spend sometime with the children from ten until noon. Problem: I did not have car b/c dad had a transfusion he needed to get. I would probably end up running late because I still needed to shower b/f taking two different busses to get there. So I asked her if tomorrow would be better. She said yes. She had just hoped I could come into today and hopefully start tomorrow. Then I had to tell her about my change in my work schedule. So now, we are going have me come in tomorrow and go from there. Its just ugh my boss Sarah is going to be really dissapointed if I get this job and I tell her we half to change my schedule again. She will start working tomorrow or Wednesday on next week schedule. If I don't get the job no biggy but if i do get the job, she'll probably be annoyed.

Rambles

I have had so many dreams about things over the years. None of them have ever come to fruit. I have at various times wanted to do missions work in Canada and Belgium. So far I have been to Californing, Slovakia, and Wisconsin. Wisconsin was the only place I eve had any thing close to a positive experience. I blame myself for all of them. I was stupid an immature. I look at my life right and its hard not to feel discourage or throw a pity party. I am 25 and I have no car, I still live with my parents because I have no steady job and I have $200 bucks to my name. My life as of right now is a total waist and isn't amounted to a whole lot. Jesus take my life and use it in some small way.

This Just In: Is this the truth about healthcare? U Decide!

The Mythology of Health Care Reform
Friday, March 03, 2006
By Michael Tanner

Health care is once again moving to the top of the national political agenda. The early evidence is that this debate will be dominated by misinformation and misconceptions. Advocates of a government-run, national health-care system will do everything they can to frighten Americans and discredit consumer-directed health care. But we would be advised to look at the facts and not the scare tactics.
The Claim: The U.S. spends too much on health care.
The Facts: It is true that the United States spends more on health care than any other country. Why is that a bad thing? There is no “right” amount to spend on health care or anything else. The United States spends more on athletic shoes than any other country. No one speaks of the athletic shoe crisis.
Economists consider health care a “normal good,” meaning that spending rises or falls with income. As incomes rise, people demand more and better health care. America's wealth determines its spending on healthcare.
The real problem is the fact that the people spending the money are not the people paying the bills. Because those purchasing health care are able to pass the bill onto third parties, the usual market disciplines don’t apply. True health-care reform would focus on giving consumers a greater stake in the decision-making process.
The Claim: Though we spend more, we get less.

The Facts: America offers the highest quality health care in the world. Most of the world’s top doctors, hospitals and research facilities are located in the United States. Eighteen of the last 25 winners of the Nobel Prize in Medicine either are U.S. citizens or work here. U.S. companies have developed half of all the major new medicines introduced worldwide over the past 20 years. And Americans played a key role in 80 percent of the most important medical advances of the past 30 years.
If you are diagnosed with a serious illness, the United States is the place you want to be. Tens of thousands of patients from around the world come to this country every year for treatment.
Critics of American health care often point out that other countries have higher life expectancies or lower infant mortality rates, but those two indicators are bad ways to measure the quality of a nation’s health-care system. In the United States, very low-birth-weight infants have a much greater chance of being brought to term with the latest medical technologies. Some of those low-birth-weight babies die soon after birth, which boosts our infant mortality rate, but in many other Western countries, those high-risk, low-birth-weight infants are not included when infant mortality is calculated.
Life expectancies are also affected by other factors like violent crime, poverty, obesity, tobacco, and drug use, and other issues unrelated to health care. When you compare the outcome for specific diseases like cancer or heart disease, the United States outperforms the rest of the world.
The Claim: A government-run health-care system would expand access to care.
The Facts: The one common characteristic of all national health care systems is that they ration care. Sometimes they ration it by denying certain types of treatment altogether. More often, they ration indirectly, imposing cost constraints through budgets, waiting lines, or limited technology. One million Britons are waiting for admission to National Health Service hospitals at any given time, and shortages force the NHS to cancel as many as 100,000 operations each year. Roughly 90,000 New Zealanders are facing similar waits. In Sweden, the wait for heart surgery can be as long as 25 weeks. In Canada more than 800,000 patients are currently on waiting lists for medical procedures.
The Claim: Health care is too complex for average Americans to make decisions about price and quality.
The Facts: Health care is increasingly high-tech and complex, but so are many other products and services that Americans purchase everyday without specialized expertise. A consumer does not need to know how an internal combustion engine works in order to buy a reliable car, or how silicon chips are manufactured before he selects a computer. When consumers have good information about product prices, quality and safety, they naturally gravitate toward the goods and services that offer the highest value for the lowest price.
There are numerous studies that show health-care consumers make decisions about price and quality. The current problem with the healthcare sector is that there isn’t enough good information available for consumers to make sound decisions about which healthcare provider or facilities offer the best value. But that’s rapidly changing as providers respond to increased consumer empowerment.
At the same time, patient advocacy companies are springing up to help health-care consumers make informed choices. When consumers, rather than insurers or employers, control the money, markets naturally respond.
The U.S. health-care system represents one-seventh of the American economy, and is literally a matter of life and death for millions of Americans. Here's hoping that they'll be able to sort the facts from the fallacies in the coming debate.

This is a picture of left my leg..Lovely isn't it? This is after I got stitches the removed. it looks even worse in person! I also have a picture on my dad's cell with the stitches still on it but I don't know how to upload it to the computer to show everybody. The white things u see are sterry strips (spelling?). The nurse put these on there after removing the stitches. They will fall off on their own. The bruising you see is normal. For more information on compartment syndrome, click on the picture. If you think u can stomach it, you can find pictures on this condition on google.c0m. I warn you, they are pretty graphic!

Visitor From the Past

This wasn't suppose to happen. This unwanted visitor wasn't ever suppose to come back. But here we are again staring one another down. Seven years ago I had surgery on my right leg. I defied odds the first time by gaining resuse of the leg and almost complet use of my big toe. It still has some numbness and I have a hard time finding shoes that feel comfortable. Now nearing on a decade later I have defied odds by having the same problem in the left leg. Only this time it was caught early because we knew what to look for and it doesn't appear I will lose a muscle this time around. I have shed some tears and prayed alot. I can see ways that the Lord is moving. He has made it possible for me to have the surgeon this time around as last, a man I believe may have samed my life if not my leg. I trust him knowing that he is familiar with my history and thus recognises that while my symptons are not typical of some who have developed compartment syndrom, he knows what I went thru last time and knows the best treatment option possible for me. If I had gone one more day without seeing him I would have needed to waited a week b/f I could have the surgery. Because the pain worsened last night instead of tonight, I was able to get into seeing Dr. Dunaway today and thuse schedule my operation first thing the next day, (tomorrow) which is the only time he does out patient surgery. Check in is at 9:30 a.m. and surgery is at 11:30 a.m. I covet your prayers. God is good all the time! All the time, God is good!

GRRR

I guess you could say I'm feeling pretty down right now. I need to rant for second. Despite everyone praying for me it looks like i am letting God and everyone else down. Its probably a good thing I diddn't get to share my testimony or whatever on a Wednesday night. I haven't earned a right to do that. The first two days went well but it seems I've managed to (parden the expression) make a big donkeys behind of myself. Its time like this im ashamed to call myself a Christian. I hate the pressure to be perfect. I hate the fact that I can never afford to be human and screw up every once in awhile. Never mind the fact that even none-christians seem to experience more success in everyday life and favor with people than I do. I am an unremarkable Chrstian; a thing far worse than being an unbeliever. Unbelieves put my relationship with Christ to shame because it seems like they have all their ducks in a row and I can't even walk and chew gum at the same time. What is wrong with me????

A Place Called Glory

I hear the sounds
OF place called glory
Where saints declair His praise
And the angels
Prostrate

There is a place
Where God's glory reigns
And the shadows
Never fall

There is place
Oh Oh ohh

There is place,
The saints declair His praise
And the angles gather round the Father's throne.

There is a place
Oh, Oh OOOh

There is a place
Just beyond the space of time
Where I shall be at my journeys
Cause where my heart is
there shall I be also

A place called glory

Ahh, home sweet home!

Its amazing what some praying time, a hug with two people you had a disagreement with on public blogs and a long drive along nearly deserted highways can do! I am considering whether or not to share my poems/songs at Amanda's get togeth (Feb 10 I believe) I might be at working..Honestly, I don't think anybody would like and I don't see why I should put myself out there is they are all going to snicker at me or roll their eyes when they think I'm not looking but I shoudl really learn to develop thicker skin! I am currenty looking for another job. Keep me in your prayers ya all and let me know how I can pray for you!

To Amanda

If you are not Amanda, oh well. Might as well let everyone else know what sometimes a sad, selfish humanbeing I can be at times.

I have a confession to make. Actually a couple. I am terribly insicure and alot of my though process is very self-centered. I can take things waaay to personaly. Or perhaps you noticed that already? Anyway, I get discouraged and frustrated when you kind of turned me down and then when you showed up in the sanctuary I was oh man. I realized I had no where to hide. And so I was like nervouse. Thank you for caring enought to come fine me a listen. I didn't have any good reason to be upset or feel rejected or whatever. I've never had too many real friends b/f and I am still learning who my real friends are and what is a friend is and not to be so sensitive. And I was so nervouse I didn't as good as normal when I did my song.
You, Jaimie, V, Liz and Liz, your the best. I love you like all like the sisters in Christ that you are!
Blessings,
Evie Warner

Random thoughts

Stopped by Apex today. Spent time trying to compose a song and it actually went pretty well.

Made Pastor Rob laugh.

Then I went to Kettering Assembly.
Made Pastor Phyllis Kennedy laugh.
Caught up with the music minister Pastor Ed Romera. He listened to my song and called my a songwriter. I talked him about how I have always had mentors for my writing but never really for singing and love of music. Which is weird comming from a family musicians. But they never did much to foster my talent, just let me find my own way. I have only had male worship leaders and they are usualy married so they feel funny I think working so closely with me and they are always busy. Its been a lonely, unproductive journey for me as a writer. People like my brother, Dave Hamilton and Vida, and Scott and Amanda Have accomplished so much artisticly than I have. And David was three years younger than I and left behind a much bigger legacy. Me? I have a folder of poems/songs noone has ever even heard. I use to sing solos in church with a background tape but than started getting too nervouse and almost having panick attacks. I hung out in choir and the church I go to know does neither the soloist thing or choir. I am not talented enought to do what those people at Apex do on Sunday.

Stomach feel icky. My heart feels heavy. The number of times I used the word "I" in theis past: atleas 10

My testimony

I will be giving this letter to Pastor Rob sometime this comming week. This letter was originally going to be just about Apex and the impact this church has had on my life. However, being a writer and quite long winded; I couldn’t just stop there. There is a line in a Christian song that says: Everybody has a story to tell. I’m no different than anyone else. So this is my story and a pray you can sit through it and that it doesn’t bore too much.

I was born in 1981 into a Pentecostal, musical family that did and still loves the Lord very much. My mother has deep roots in this denomination while my father actually came from the Grace Brethren/ Lutheran type back ground. Everything is very liturgical, very formal; while the charismatic church I grew up handles life the way they do worship in church: full throttle and with abandon and no thought to whatever people thought of them or their passion for the Savior.

My mother had trouble with bringing both me and my older brother, Matthew into the world. She wasn’t even suppose to be able to have children and I think even tried to make sure she wouldn’t’ get pregnant, but God had other plans.
When Matthew was born the doctors at first thought he was premature. He was very tiny. His lungs were undeveloped. He had I.V’s everywhere. However, an X-ray of the growth of the bones in his hand showed he was full term. He would struggle with asthma through out childhood. But the most amazing thing happened. Matthew is blessed by the Father with amazing musical talents. As difficult as it was for him to breath in grade school and with sometimes bad allergies, my brother now plays several wind instruments, a little bit of the piano and is As. Prof. of music at Evangel University in Springfield, MO. He no longer suffers from breathing difficulties

While pregnant with me she was on bed rest most of the time. By the grace of God, she managed to carry me to term. However, when just nine months old I had to have a surgery performed on my head b/c my soft spot was fused together. I had a very high temperature, could have ended badly, but obviously survived the ordeal. When I was kindergarten the public school system told my mother I would never learn to read or write because I was mentally retarded. But the Lord told my mother to keep my name on the lips of the saints. So my home church continually lifted me up in prayer. Today, I read at college level, there is nothing wrong with my I.Q. and I went on to win awards at local and national levels for my writing in high school and have written articles for OnCourse, an Assembly of God magazine for teens. So much for I will never learn to read and write!

My senior year of high school, my churches youth ministry went on a youth retreat. I woke up on the last day in terrible pain. I could not put anyway weight on my right foot. At first the doctors though I had a really bad sprain. As it turned out, I had something called compartment syndrome. In short, that means I had a blood clot somewhere below the knee cutting off circulation to the muscles in my leg resulting in lots of swelling. I had to have emergency surgery to release the pressure on it, but the doctors discovered that one of the muscles in my calf had already died and therefore had to be removed. During my recovery and physical therapy to learn to walk again I questioned God. I was like, “Why didn’t you just let me die.” This was a condition that could have caused me to lose my leg from the knee down or kill as blood clots can be very dangerous (as I’m sure you know). I didn’t know where my life was headed and felt like I had no real purpose. I thought it was better that I had died.

Then one day God got a hold of me. He just seemed to say,”You idiot! How dare you pretend to know better than me. You can die. That can be arranged. You’re still alive because I am not through with you yet.”

The ironic thing is while in the hospital I prayed for an older lady in the hospital bed next to me. She was having severe headaches and the doctors weren’t sure why. She was touched by my willingness to hop to her from my bed after having surgery and pray for her healing. It took me a while to realize that if God brought me to that point just to minister to her; then whatever inconvenience I suffered was worth it; knowing Christ suffered much more to bring me to himself.
God is continuing to reveal Himself. Over the years I have often struggled with feeling of belonging and fitting. But since coming to Apex, the young people have just loved me and supported me. Your message on community is exactly what I’ve needed hear. I learning so much about what it means to be apart of a community of believes. Thank you.

And I thank God for parents that went on their knees before the Lord for their children; recognizing the battle belonged to the Lord. My brother and I would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for their obedience to God.

Road Trip Part II

But on to better news!
Its time to take a real road. I saw this book called Weird Ohio. Wouldn't it be cool to visit some of the places in that book? So whose with me? I have never had a group of friends that I've taken a weekend or week of and done something fun. Maybe we could rent a motor a home or something. That way we wouldn't half to worry about hotel and we could take turn driving addition to being able to bring food with us if it has a minifridge

Road Trps: And other confessions of a drama queen

Best thing about Road Trps:
1.) Country roads
2.) Getting the crap scared out of you by other dirves on the highway
3.) Listening to News Boys, Christ Tomlin, Lincoln Brewster,
and other songs on K Love
4.) Getting hopefully lost

Worst thing about Road Trips:
1.) Country roads
2.) Getting the crap scared out of you by other dirves on the highway
3.) Listening to News Boys, Christ Tomlin, Lincoln Brewster,
and other songs on K Love
4.) Getting hopefully lost

I spent several hours in the car yesterday trying to get to a place in Fairfield to fill out and application. I started out with directions from Mapquest which ended up not making any since and then decided to stop at the library to see what google had to say. I think the directions were probably better but I missed my exit. So ended up comming back into the Dayton area at 3 pm or so after driving around since about 10:30 that morning. Instead of filling out out an application for the daycare I ended up filling an application for Bethany Lutheran Village and TotLots Preschool in Kettering. Today I had an interview with Totlot. The director Jane is really nice and I love the setting and everything. However, I only have my certificate. She has more interviews to do and its possible that I may lose out on this opportunity because I don't have my bachelars of applies science. Sheehs, I can barely even spell it.

Oh and I broke things off with Josh. Its hard for him to understand but things are just better this way.
